Freight Auditing

Our Freight Audit Solutions

Standard shipping invoice contains many billing mistakes, service failures, and extra charges that most companies often overlook.

For example, Fedex and UPS have a money-back guarantee policy that states the customer is entitled to a full refund even if the package was only minutes late. The Canyon Logistics auditing team takes that and about 40 other factors into account while auditing the shipping bills for carriers such as FedEx and UPS. Since Canyon Logistics’ specialty and niche is with FedEx accounts, Canyon Logistics tends to have a higher success rate at recovery than other freight auditors. In addition to using a highly developed analytic software, Canyon Logistics manually goes through every single shipment to make sure a full or even partial credit is given to the client. This means that Canyon Logistics has an exclusive department that actually calls FedEx on behalf of the client to ensure maximum savings.

The beauty about our service is that we only get paid on a contingency basis. If Canyon Logistics doesn’t save you any money in a given month, then you don’t pay a cent! Canyon Logistics typically charges a 50% fee on the savings each month. Therefore, our only motivation is to save the client more money and ensure maximum savings every month. Furthermore, our freight audit solution is only month to month with NO contractual commitment.

To get started, one of our reps will send you a Non-Disclosure Agreement that is to be filled out, signed, and sent back. The NDA simply states the confidentiality of any information provided to Canyon Logistics and the payment terms.  Once the auditing team receives the signed NDA, we will starting working on your account immediately. After a few days, the representative assigned to your account will be in contact with you to let you know on the progress and the amount of money recovered. FedEx only gives us 15 days from the date of invoice to request any credits so everyday can make a big difference in the world of auditing. For example, today our auditing team can get you a $500 credit but tomorrow (the 16th day) it will be almost impossible.

Contract Negotiation

Another effective way to help reduce your shipping costs is modifying your current freight contracts. Freight shipping contracts are usually aimed at maximizing profit for the carriers and consist of multiple factors that determine the final shipping cost of a package. Canyon Logistics has a negotiation team specifically devoted to finding these hidden extra charges on your carrier contract and obtaining a larger discount for your small parcel shipments. Canyon Logistics does this by either using our highly sophisticated software or simply comparing your contracts with others in the industry. In addition, our broad knowledge of the industry and existing relationships with the carriers facilitate our ability to maximize the savings on your small parcel freight contracts.

Step by Step Process of what we do for you:
  • We analyze your shipping history and data
  • We thoroughly analyze your current agreement
  • We put together a negotiation plan on your behalf
  • We submit a professional request for a quote on a new plan (RFQ)
  • We compare proposals from different shipping companies
  • We do the paperwork of switching over to your new agreement
  • We continue getting refunds for late and missed shipments
